Dr Sameer Babu M

Dr. Sameer Babu M is currently serving as Associate Professor in the Department of Educational Studies, Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI), a Central University, New Delhi. He is the Lab Lead of the Collaborative Lab on Meaningful Learning in Multicultural Settings (CLMLMS), which advances scholarship and collaborative research in meaningful learning, multicultural contexts, educational psychology, and related dimensions of education. Dr. Babu is also a Research Fellow at the University of South Africa (UNISA) and INTI International University, Malaysia. In recognition of his academic expertise and international engagement, he was awarded a Visiting Professor position at INTI International University, Malaysia, in September 2025. He has also served as a Visiting Professor of Education at Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI), Indonesia, for three years, contributing to international teaching, academic collaboration, and knowledge exchange. In addition, he has served as a Visiting Professor at the UNESCO Chair for Social Pedagogy, MGU, Warsaw, Poland, further strengthening his international academic profile. Earlier in his academic career, Dr. Babu worked with several reputed higher education institutions, including the University of Kerala, Central University of Rajasthan, Aligarh Muslim University, and the University of Delhi. His academic and research trajectory reflects sustained engagement with teaching, research, academic development, and institutional collaboration across diverse higher education contexts. Dr. Babu has 11 research projects to his credit, including a prestigious ICSSR IMPRESS Major Project, demonstrating his sustained contribution to externally supported research. He was also awarded the prestigious Shastri Mobility Grant to Canada in 2020, facilitating international academic engagement and scholarly exchange. His contributions to innovation include four published patents, reflecting his engagement with the development of innovative educational ideas and frameworks. His research and academic contributions have also been recognized through Research Awards from the University of Kerala for three consecutive years. He has developed and published 11 tools, in addition to authoring and/or editing 26 books, thereby contributing substantially to the development and dissemination of scholarly and educational resources. He has also developed and offers a complete MOOC on the SWAYAM platform, contributing to large-scale digital and open-access learning initiatives in higher education. In recognition of his contribution to digital academic content, Dr. Babu has received the Best E-Lecture Award from REST. His academic expertise and scholarly contribution have also led to his engagement as a reviewer for several reputed international journals, including the British Journal of Educational Psychology and the Canadian Journal of Education.
